My Background
Art, be it crafts, collages, mixed media, or fiber arts have always been a passion of mine. I developed this love for art doing art projects at home with my mother who was a teacher with a very creative bent. We experimented with all kinds of medium from tempra paints to clay to sewing fabric on paper to make simple mixed media collages.

I use many different mediums, such as oil pastels, acrylics, and fabric. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. I like to experiment with different mediums and come up with new ways to display art on canvas or fabric. I like to take collages I make and recreate them with fabric.

I like the fussy cutting of collage trying sometimes to blend the sharp edges so that the collage is seamless.

I enjoy hiking in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by these hikes in nature. I love recreating plants and wildlife in my work.
